Official: Birmingham City product Solomon-Otabor joins Chinese Super League club
Published: February 28, 2024With a statement on their official website, Rukh Lviv have announced that they have ended their association with 2019 Super Eagles invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor.
Solomon-Otabor mutually terminated his contract with Ukrainian top-flight club Rukh Lviv four months before its expiration, paving the way for him to join Chinese Super League outfit Cangzhou Mighty Lions F.C. as a free agent.
The Birmingham City academy product transferred to Rukh Lviv in January 2022 and has departed the club after playing in 42 league matches, scoring three goals while providing two assists.
Although Rukh Lviv have not disclosed the length of the deal signed by the winger, allnigeriasoccer.com has directly confirmed that he put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Cangzhou Mighty Lions F.C.
Solomon-Otabor attracted concrete interest from Cypriot club Apollon Limassol in the summer and winter transfer windows but a deal did not go through.
Apart from Birmingham City, Solomon-Otabor counts Blackpool, Wigan Athletic, Portsmouth, CSKA Sofia, St. Johnstone FC and Bolton Wanderers as his previous clubs.
The 28-year-old was called up for a high-profile friendly match between Nigeria and Brazil in October 2019 but was an unused substitute.
