Hilary Gong open to MLS move after Toronto FC missed out on signing him in primary transfer window
Published: May 08, 2024Fast Nigerian winger and Toronto FC target, Hilary Gong, has indicated his interest in joining Major League Soccer (MLS) during the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Gong is considering a potential move to MLS as he plans his departure from his current club in Slovakia.
Toronto FC previously expressed interest in acquiring the services of the Trencin winger during the primary transfer window in America.
However, despite Toronto FC's interest, a deal could not be finalized before the window closed as Trencin retained their speedy winger.
It is understood that Toronto FC remain committed to acquiring Gong and intend to resume their pursuit when the secondary transfer window opens in July.
Hilary Gong's football journey began in Slovakia with AS Trencin, before transferring to Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands but encountered a set back shortly after his arrival at the Dutch club following a knee injury and struggled to regain his previous form.
Last summer, Gong made a strategic decision to rejoin AS Trencin, where he has demonstrated a remarkable resurgence in his athletic performance, particularly his exceptional speed, which was a key factor in his previous 2.5 million euro transfer to Vitesse Arnhem,
His impressive return of 10 goal involvements in 32 appearances across various competitions has made him a nightmare for defenders in the Slovak Super Liga.
