William Oluremi John Delighted With Move To MAS Fez
Published: September 22, 2014
Former United States youth international William Oluremi John says he is delighted with his transfer to Maghreb Association Sportive de Fez, insisting that he made the right choice joining the Moroccan club.
Many eyebrows were raised when news emerged this past weekend that the free agent had signed a two - year contract with the 2012 CAF Super Cup winners, which would be his first stint in the black continent despite having African blood flowing in his veins.
“Most important is to be at a good club, a championship club and a professional club. MAS Fez was two years ago champions of Africa and also won three titles.
“Football is global, it’s not about location but your environment. Football being the way it is today there is hardly a shortage of opportunities.
“I chose MAS because it is the right choice,” Will John explained to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The attacking midfielder started pre - season training with AZAL, only for him to severe ties with the team few weeks later, and he has now cleared the air on the circumstances surrounding his departure from the Azerbaijan club without fanfare.
“Nothing happened. I had decided to leave after the season as It was time for me to continue my journey.
“They offered me an improved contract but I declined. A footballer must always be looking to push himself,” the 29 - year - old added.
William Oluremi John has already began training with MAS Fez, and will be handed a shirt number in the coming days.
