Former Nigeria Under 20 international Ganiu Atanda Ogungbe scored his first ever goal since moving to Europe last season, after he netted the match winner in Ethnikos Achna’s 1 - 0 win over his former team AC Omonia on Sunday.
Ogungbe penned a one - year deal with Ethnikos Achna in the close season, and has clocked up 4 appearances for the Stadio Dasaki Achnas outfit since the league started.
“It was a very important win for us and it just happened to be against Omonoia today. Hopefully there will be more goals for this season from me.
“The referee added so much injury time today because during the game there were a lot of injuries, ” says Ganiu Ogungbe to allnigeriasocecr.com.
For the remainder of this season, the central defender, who made his name with Kwara United back in his homeland, will sport the number 25 jersey.
Letting the cat out of the bag, this website understands that he was recommended to AC Omonia by another Nigerian defender, Rasheed Alabi.
