Published: January 24, 2015
Former Flying Eagles skipper Odion Ighalo was pleased to score a double brace as Watford thrashed Blackpool 7 - 2 in the English Championship on Saturday.
The Watford number 24, who netted four goals within 34 minutes, has admitted that The Hornets were not at their best in the first stanza, but showed their qualities after the restart.
“When we were two goals down, I was confident we will win because I know we are the better team, ” says Odion Ighalo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“We did not start the game with a high tempo, but we pushed in the second half. I am happy to score four goals and I thank God for that.
“The goals are special to me. I dedicate them to God for keeping me going, and secondly to my family. ”
Odion Ighalo has found the back of the net in each of his last four games in the Championship.
Watford signed him on a permanent basis last October from partner club Udinese.
