Olanrewaju Kehinde Bags Brace For Hapoel Afula
Published: February 28, 2015
Maccabi Tel Aviv loanee Olanrewaju Kehinde further endeared himself to clubs in the Israeli Premier League after bagging a brace for Hapoel Afula in their 2 - 0 win over Hapoel Kfar Saba on Friday in the first division.
Top tier Beitar Jerusalem were on the brink of signing him from The Yellows in the just concluded winter transfer market.
But the deal failed to materialize, and it is assumed the capital side pulled the plug on the switch after discovering he’s a practicing Muslim.
Like water off a duck’s back, Olanrewaju Kehinde was not bothered by the snub, and has continued to deliver for Hapoel Afula.
The 20 - year - old’s brace against Hapoel Kfar Saba took his tally this season to 19 goals in all competitions, with 16 of them coming in the Liga Leumit.
Hapoel Afula sit fourth on the table with 44 points after 26 games played.
