Bayern Munich Fullback David Alaba Ruled Out Of Russia Clash
Published: May 25, 2015
David Alaba is disappointed that he will not be available for selection when Austria take on Russia next month in a European Championship qualifier.
Though the wing - back has resumed training with Bayern Munich, he is lacking match fitness and will be left out of the squad after manager Marcel Koller consulted Matthias Sammer, sports director of FC Bayern Munich.
“It’s a pity that the game against Russia now is a little bit too early for me, but I am convinced that the team will have a very good performance in Moscow and will have a good chance of a points increase ,” Alaba told the official website of the Austria Federation.
Coach Marcel Koller will announce his roster for the tie with Russia on Tuesday, May 26.
Austria lead the way in Group G with 13 points followed by Sweden, who have 4 points less.
