Kano Pillars Land In Hot Water With Fifa And NFF Over Abdullahi Shehu $150,000 Move To Qadsia SC
Published: May 28, 2015
Investigations conducted by allnigeriasoccer.com revealed that Kano Pillars were involved in financial malpractices amounting to US$150,000 regarding the sale of Abdullahi Shehu to Qadsia SC in the summer of 2014.
In the Transfer Matching System (TMS), the Nigeria champions and Kuwaiti side both claimed that the Super Eagles midfielder was a free agent as at the time he agreed terms with Qadsia but this website has documentary evidence that he was tied to Kano Pillars until the end of the 2016 season.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the former Kano State Commissioner of Sports was paid the player’s transfer fee and this was not remitted to the state or club.
In separate interviews with the General Manager and Secretary of Kano Pillars on Thursday afternoon, the two officials deflected questions when asked to comment on whether or not a transfer fee was paid by Qadsia SC.
“I don’t know anything about that, ” the General Manager of Kano Pillars simply told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Kano Pillars Secretary added : “I am not involved in that transfer so I can’t tell you if a transfer fee was paid.”
The implications of this fraud could land Kano Pillars into deep waters with Fifa and lead to sanctions and criminal prosecution for the parties involved.
Nigerian clubs Plateau United and Sokoto United have been disenfranchised from solidarity compensation payments supposed to be credited to their domiciliary accounts by Qadsia SC.
