Exclusive : UAE Champs Al Ain End Pursuit Of Chelsea Midfielder Obi Mikel
Published: July 05, 2015
United Arab Emirates club Al - Ain have ended their pursuit of Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel following the capture of the signature of ex Liverpool striker Ryan Babel, allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed by a club insider.
It would be recalled that a representative of Mikel had earlier reiterated that his client never agreed to terms with Al - Ain and the interest from the Pro League champions was never concrete.
To put it another way, The Boss never approached Chelsea suits regarding the possibility of signing Obi Mikel.
“I was at the club on Thursday night. It is confirmed that Al - Ain are no longer interested in signing Mikel,” the top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Babel was chosen ahead of Mikel in Al Ain.”
