World Exclusive : Taye Taiwo Joins HJK Helsinki Until End Of The Season
Published: August 22, 2015
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Taye Taiwo jetted off to Helsinki, Finland on Saturday morning to formalize his transfer to the most successful team in the country, HJK Helsinki.
For close to a month, the Super Eagles left back and his intermediary Tekin Birinci have been thrashing out terms with the 27 - time champions of Finland.
It would be recalled that the former Marseille, Dynamo Kiev and Bursaspor defender traveled to Finland at the start of August but talks did not lead to him signing a contract after he refused to undergo trials.
This time around, Taiwo will pen a deal with HJK until the end of the 2015 season if he passes a routine medical, with the club having the option of extending his contract by an extra year.
The 30 - year - old wingback has also turned out for AC Milan and Queens Park Rangers.
