Dele Alli Revels In England Call - Up
Published: October 08, 2015
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has expressed his happiness at the opportunity to train with England’s senior players, whom he adored while growing up.
But the 19 - year - old is not a stranger to St. George’s Park, having previously represented England U17, 18, 19 and 21 teams prior to his call - up to the Three Lions squad for the Euro qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.
“It’s always an honour to be picked for any age group for your country, and for the first team it’s great for me and my family, ” says Dele Alli to TheFA.com.
“I’ve been here quite a few times. It really helps when you see all the other England players around.”
The Anglo - Nigerian continued : “Like the young boy Tom [Davies], from Everton, who trained with us on Wednesday, you can see that he was confident and wasn’t overwhelmed by the big players.
“It really helps with the development of the players, when you see the seniors and they say hello and are all really nice.”
If Alli is handed game time on Friday night against Estonia at Wembley, he will no longer be eligible to represent Nigeria since it is a competitive fixture.
