After losing their first four games in Group E, Dinamo Minsk had to wait until game week five before picking up their first win in this season’s competition after they beat Viktoria Plzeåˆ in Minsk.

At the Italian capital, neither Eddy Onazi and Michael Babatunde were in action for their respective teams as Lazio beat Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 3 - 1. Lazio are through to the next round of the competition while the Ukrainians have crashed out.

Skënderbeu Korçë (Albania) and Peter Olayinka will not compete in the last 32 after suffering a 2 - 0 defeat at the hands of Besiktas. Their Nigerian striker played the full game.

Switzerland youth international Manuel Akanji was not in FC Basel’s 18 - man squad for their clash at St. Jakob-Park against Fiorentina. It ended 2 - 2.

Three players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Elderson Echiejile, Imoh Ezekiel and Stefano Okaka were in action in the game between Monaco and Anderlecht but none lasted the distance.

Left back Echiejile came on in the 85th minute, with the outcome of the game already decided, 2 - 0 in favour of the Belgians. Okaka started for the Jupiler League side but was replaced in the 84th minute, while Imoh hopped off the bench in the 65th minute

In the same Group J, Tottenham Hotspur have qualified for the knock out stages, thanks to their 1 - 0 win over Qarabag in Baku.

Three Lions midfielder Dele Alli played the full game while England youth - teamer Josh Onomah was introduced in the first minute of second - half injury time.

Another English team through to the next round are Liverpool, who beat Bordeaux 2 -1 at Anfield. Jordon Ibe started for the Reds, was yellow - carded in the 62nd minute, then replaced in stoppage time.

Ex Flying Eagles star Kehinde Fatai assisted Sparta Prague beat Asteras Tripolis 1 - 0 in the Czech Republic . He was replaced ten minutes from time.

Efe Ambrose was an unused substitute in Celtic’s 2 - 1 loss to Ajax Amsterdam in Glasgow.  The Scottish club will not be one of the teams in the draw for the knock out round.

Finally at the Pepsi Arena in Warsaw, Legia Warsaw struggled to beat Danish champions FC Midtjylland. 1 - 0. Dream Team VI striker Paul Onuachu featured off the bench for 54 minutes.
