Super Falcons Hero Peppe Nkwocha Returns To Sunnana For The Sake Of Faith Ikidi
Published: February 08, 2016
Two of Nigeria’s top female football players and good friends met on Sunday in a soccer game in Piteå in Northern Sweden.
Faith ikidi, 28 years old (her birthday is 28th February!), playing for Piteå IF in the Damallsvenskan and Perpetua Nkwocha, 40 years old, who made a short comeback of her former club Sunnanå just for this friendly match indoors.
Faith and Perpetua have played many internationals matches together in the Super Falcons, including the World Cup in Germany 2011.
The old teammates in the Super Falcons talked to each other before and after the friendly match.
The match ended 6-0 to Piteå against Sunnanå who play in a lower division in the Swedish league system.
“It was nice to meet Faith again. It is not so often now we see each other when I have stopped my playing career in the Swedish league and just work as a coach.
“I admire Faith as a footballer. She is a really great defender, strong, fast with a good technique, Perpetua Nkwocha said”.
Faith ikidi had a fantastic season in 2015 in Piteå. She was also chosen as the best defender of the Swedish football league Damallsvenskan, where also Ogonna Chukwudi (örebro), Sarah Michael (örebro) and Rita Chikwelu (Umeå IK) are playing.
All Nigerian players were very important in their teams last season.
