Published: February 12, 2016
English League One side Fleetwood Town have completed the signing of former Nigeria international Shola Ameobi.
The 34-year-old, who recently parted company with Bolton Wanderers, has penned a short-term deal that will keep him at The Cod Army until June 30,2016.
Manager Steven Pressley said : “We certainly couldn’t get any more experience than Shola Ameobi and we are absolutely delighted with that.
“He is not only a very good player; he is a terrific character that can bring a lot to the group.
“It is vital that he has been playing as sometimes unattached players at this stage in the season, the one thing they are lacking is a level of fitness. ”
Shola Ameobi previously represented Newcastle United, where he spent 14 years, Stoke City, Gaziantep BB (Turkey) and Crystal Palace.
