Super Eagles Confident Of Victory Over Mali
Published: May 27, 2016
The Super Eagles are confident of securing victory when they clash with West African opponents Mali in an international friendly in Rouen on Friday evening.
Having failed to qualify for the 2017 African Cup of Nations, the national team needs a boost ahead of the World Cup qualifiers which resume in October and wins against Mali and Luxembourg can raise their morale.
The Super Eagles had three training sessions in total before today’s game, but officials reckon that the invited players are in tip-top condition nonetheless.
“The team is in great shape. The players are confident of victory over Mali in Rouen on Friday. #SoarSuperEagles, ” the Nigeria Football Federation said via the official Twitter account of the national team.
Only three players - Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem and Wilfred Ndidi- were yet to arrive the camp as at last night, bearing in mind that Obi Mikel and Ahmed Musa have been excused, while Victor Moses and Aaron Samuel withdrew.
