Published: June 30, 2016
Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi has moved quickly to dismiss reports in the local media that he has penned a contract with Norwegian Tippeligaen side Lillestrøm SK.
Having said that, this website previously reported that the ex-Schalke 04 striker might sign a short-term deal with the Canaries if he proves during training that he is in tiptop condition, but an agreement has not been reached yet.
“I have not signed a contract with Lillestrøm, I am just training here to keep fit, ” says Chinedu Obasi to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“So I don’t know where the story is coming from. ”
Now 30, Chinedu Obasi has a good reputation in Norway, having starred for Lyn Oslo for three seasons before transferring to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim .
The official website of Lillestrom has not announced the signing of Obasi, so reports that a deal is in place is tantamount to putting the cart before the horse.
