New Angers SCO Signing Nwakaeme Explains Role Played By Ex-Liverpool Striker Diouf
Published: July 02, 2016
Dickson Nwakaeme has expressed delight at penning a one-year deal with French Ligue 1 club Angers SCO.
The attacker was previously on the books of Niary Tally in Senegal and took a liking to the French topflight after watching several Senegal internationals, including El Hadji Diouf, display their wares in the league.
“I am still in Nigeria, we will start training first week of July. It is a dream come true joining Angers SCO, ” Nwakeme told allnigeriasoccer.com on Thursday.
“Senegal was the first country I traveled to and most of the Senegalese players were playing in France then including El Hadji Diouf, so they love French football so much and showed it on their local TV station.
“That’s how I fell in love with French football.”
Before Angers SCO finally got their man, he was on their radar for three years, having impressed team officials when he tested with the club in the summer of 2013.
“The team showed great interest in me and they believe in me so much. Best choice for me at the moment, ” Dickson Nwakaeme added.
The former KuPS and Pahang hero will be handed a kit number when he resumes pre-season training at Angers SCO.
