Published: July 28, 2016
English Premier League club Manchester City have clarified that their defender Tosin Adarabioyo hails from Manchester in England and not Nigeria.
The England youth international has been named in the starting line-up in the ongoing International Champions Cup clash between City and Borussia Dortmund.
A Nigerian, Deji Adesogan, tweeted that Adarabioyo looks like a Yoruba guy and likely to be from Oyo State in Nigeria.
Manchester City replied him : “He’s from Manchester ð”.
It is understood that the Nigeria Football Federation sent emissaries to find out whether Adarabioyo would love to represent Nigeria but the stopper gave a negative response, as he prefers to continue playing for the youth teams of England.
Born September 24, 1997, he made his competitive debut for City last season and has been tipped to break into their first team in the near future.
