England U21 international Chuba Akpom hopped off the bench in the second half and scored the game-winner as Arsenal beat MLS All-Stars 2-1 in a high profile friendly played at the Avaya Stadium on Friday morning.
After 86 minutes the scoreboard was reading 1-1, but it changed with three minutes remaining when Akpom tapped home from close range after he was set up by the overlapping Nacho Monreal.
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi was one of the five changes made by Arsene Wenger at half-time, while Akpom entered into the fray in the 67th minute.
On eleven minutes, Joel Campbell gave the Gunners the lead with a well-taken spot-kick, then Didier Drogba replied for MLS All-Stars just before half-time.
