The seven-time African champions have started preparations for the competition which will hold in Cameroon from 19 November – 3 December without Omagbemi, who is presently in Jordan for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

It has been claimed that the former Super Falcons captain was assigned to analyze some matches in Jordan, similar to the job Oliseh did for Fifa at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

The foreign-based professionals called up to the squad , including Arsenal striker Asisat Oshoala, have not yet arrived in Abuja, but it is understood that the Nigerian Federation have started talks with their clubs for the release of the players.

Nigeria will open Group B play against Mali at the Stade Municipal de Limbe, Limbe on November 20, before facing Ghana and Kenya in that order.
