Oghenekaro Etebo Gets Green Light To Play For Super Eagles Against AlgeriaAllnigeriasoccer.com understands that Oghenekaro Etebo has been issued with a Schengen visa by the Portuguese authorities, paving the way for the CD Feirense attacking midfielder to travel to Nigeria for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria in about two weeks time.

The Nigeria U23 star’s Plan B was to obtain a visa that would enable him return to Portugal after the game in Uyo just in case his application for a residence permit is not granted when he is due to travel to Nigeria.

In truth, Etebo was considered for the World Cup qualifier in Ndola with manager Gernot Rohr confirming as much, but he contacted Nigeria Football Federation officials about his predicament- the absence of a valid traveling document- not to talk of his fitness, so was not named in the 23-man roster.

Following his return from injury, Etebo has been in red hot form for his club, scoring in Cup games against Tondela and Alcanenense, and should be one of the first names on the long-list being drawn up by Rohr.

The 20-year-old scored against Egypt on his full debut for the national team back in March.
