Ex-Liverpool Trialist Njoku Nets Hat-Trick In 24 Minutes In Israeli League
Published: October 28, 2016
Former Liverpool trialist Jacob Njoku continues to impress in his first season as a professional after netting a hat-trick in Beitar Tel Aviv Ramla’s 5-2 rout of Hapoel Afula in the Israeli Leumit League on Friday.
The 18-year-old striker leveled the scoreline at 1-1, with a brilliant shot into the top corner after 24 minutes.
In the 45th minute, the former Nigeria U15 international got his second game of the game, before bagging a hat-trick three minutes out of intermission, taking advantage of the opponents’ weak defense before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.
A product of the academy team of Porto and United Arab Emirates side Al Oruba, Njoku trialed with Liverpool in April 2016 but was not offered a contract after the tests.
He later joined Beitar Tel Aviv Ramla in August.
