Toronto Starlet Akinola Scores, Bags Assist, Wins Penalty As USA U17s Hammer Portugal 7-1

Toronto FC striker Ayomide Akinola was on target as United States U17s registered an impressive 7-1 win over Portugal at the13th annual Nike International Friendlies at Premier Sports Campus Stadium Field on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old won a penalty for the Americans which was converted by Andrew Carleton in the eighth minute, before setting up Josh Sargent on 19th minute as the hosts raced into a two-goal lead.
The Nigerian-American made it 5-1 in the 63rd minute when he fired home from close range, and was substituted four minutes after his goal.
Born in Ontario, Akinola can represent the senior national teams of United States, Nigeria and Canada.
He has scored more than 20 goals for the United States youth teams, including the U15 squad.
