Exclusive: Real Reason Chelsea Ace Moses Withdrew From Nigeria Squad, Hits Lagos June 14
Published: May 31, 2017
Chelsea star Victor Moses has withdrawn from the latest Nigeria squad that will prosecute the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Bafana Bafana citing fatigue, contrary to speculation in the local media that he is set to undergo surgery for a toe problem.
The former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic winger is in good physical condition, starting nine out of the final ten games contested by Chelsea in all competitions, and would have been fit for the qualifier against Bafana Bafana if he made himself available for selection.
''Victor Moses is not injured, he was playing for Chelsea before the season ended. He pulled out of the squad as he was too tired after a strenuous season,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''Moses will be arriving Lagos on June 14th for his summer vacation, so won't be in Uyo for the game.''
Moses, a former England U17 international, has played only four competitive matches for the Super Eagles in the last three years.
