League Cup Wrap: Solanke Full Debut, Enobakhare Scores, Ndidi Stars, Abraham Subbed InA round-up of Nigerian players that were in action for their respective clubs in the third round of the League Cup on Tuesday, September 19.

Nigerian players with dual nationalities that have played competitively for the senior national teams of other countries have been omitted.

Liverpool crashed out of the competition after losing 2-0 to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, with England U21 sensation Dominic Solanke making his full debut for the Reds.

Teammates Ovie Ejaria and Bobby Adekanye were not included in Liverpool's 18.

Of the key Nigerian players on the books of Leicester City, only Wilfred Ndidi started and featured for 84 minutes. Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho were non-playing substitutes.

Joining Leicester City in the fourth round draw is Carl Ikeme's Wolverhampton Wanderers, who needed a 98th minute goal from Nigerian-born striker Bright Enobakhare before seeing off Bristol Rovers.

Enobakhare lasted the distance at the Molineux Stadium in the West Midlands.

England youth-teamer Josh Onomah started and was in action for 81 minutes as Aston Villa lost 2-0 to Middlesbrough at Villa Park.

Derik Osede and Sammy Ameobi were left out of the Bolton Wanderers squad against West Ham at the London Stadium. 3-0 it finished in favour of the Premier League side.

Former Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo and up-and-coming winger Joseph Hungbo were not involved in Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

At the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth beat Brighton & Hove 1-0. Ex-Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe started for the Cherries and was replaced in the 103rd minute.

Tammy Abraham played the last nine minutes of Swansea City's 2-0 win at Reading, for whom Tiago Ilori lasted the distance. The Royals record signing Sone Aluko wasn't in the 18.

Another Chelsea loanee in the shape of Ike Ugbo put in a full shift in attack as Barnsely lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium.
