Ex-Arsenal Striker Approached By Pinnick Gets England Call-Up Again
Published: September 30, 2017
Striker Fejiri Okenabirhie has received another call-up to England C squad for a training camp ahead of their International Challenge Trophy Final against Slovakia.
The 21-year-old had been on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation, with Amaju Pinnick holding talks with the former Arsenal youth-teamer over committing his international future to Nigeria rather than England two years ago.
Fejiri Okenabirhie made his international bow for England C Team in their 2-1 victory over Panjab FA at Damson Park, Solihull Moors in May 2017.
The attacker is one of the four Dagenham and Redbridge players named in Paul Fairclough's 22-man roster.
This season, Okenabirhie has appeared in eleven matches for the Daggers, scoring once against Boreham Wood in August, while providing an assist in their 3-3 draw with Ebbsfleet Utd in the same month.
He previously represented Stevenage, Bedford Town, Farnborough, Cambridge City, Royston Town and Harrow Borough.
