Premier League champions Chelsea are working on a deal to sign talented Nigerian striker Victor Adeboyejo but face competition from EFL Championship clubs.
Adeboyejo, who is a free agent after rejecting the chance to extend his contract with Leyton Orient in the summer, has been invited to train with the Blues, with a view to being offered a contract.
''Victor Adeboyejo is currently training with Chelsea, he started training with their U23 team last week,'' a top source close to Victor Adeboyejo told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested in signing him.''
Born in Ibadan, Adeboyejo impressed while on trial with Barnsley in August, scoring against Charlton Athletic, Colchester United and Queens Park Rangers (2) in the Professional Development League 2.
The 19-year-old represented the youth teams of Arsenal, AFC Wimbledon and Charlton Athletic before he was snapped up by Leyton Orient.
He enjoyed loan spells at Royston Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Heybridge Swifts, Dulwich Hamlet, Soham Town Rangers and Margate while he was on the books of The O's.
