England U20 World Cup Stars Of Nigerian Descent In Line To Feature In Merseyside Derby
Published: December 10, 2017
Golden Ball winner of the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup Dominic Solanke has a slight chance of featuring in his first Merseyside derby in Sunday's showdown between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield.
The England international has been included in the Reds provisional squad that will take part in the game.
Solanke got some minutes in Liverpool's last two Premier League matches against Stoke City and Brighton & Hove but was a non-playing substitute in the Champions League clash vs Spartak Moscow in midweek.
If the provisional squad is anything to go by, two of the brightest prospects of the Liverpool Academy Ovie Ejaria and Bobby Adekanye will watch the game from the stands.
Winger Ademola Lookman put himself in contention to start for Everton thanks to his man-of-the-match performance against Apollon Limassol in the Europa League on Thursday, in which he scored a first-half brace.
The former Charlton Athletic prodigy was on the bench for this fixture last season, specifically on April 1, 2017.
Dennis Adeniran has not broken into the first team of the Toffees since his arrival from Fulham in the summer transfer window and will not be named to the 18-man squad.
