Chelsea Boss Reacts To Peter Crouch & Edin Dzeko Link
Published: January 19, 2018
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reacted to speculations in the media linking the Premier League champions with a move for Stoke City's Peter Crouch and Roma striker Edin Dzeko.
It was earlier reported that Chelsea had enquired about the availability of Crouch after the injury of West Ham striker Andy Carroll, who was also on the wishlist of the London club.
The Blues have also been credited with an interest in ex- Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko and are readying a €50 million bid for the Bosnian and Emerson Palmieri.
Speaking to the national press in England on Friday, Conte said : ''As you know very well that it is not right to talk about players on other teams. There is a transfer period and if something happens then you might be the one to know first .''
On Crouch, Conte stated : ''My answer is the same. I am not interested in this conversation. To be respectful for my players and other players of other clubs. This is period is a transfer market, if something happens you are the first media to know the news.''
This season, Crouch has scored 3 goals in 18 appearances in the Premier League, while Dzeko has netted 9 goals in 19 Serie A appearances.
