Nigeria Make Two Changes To Starting XI Vs Angola, Revert To 4-3-3 Formation
Published: January 28, 2018
Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf has made two changes to his starting line-up for Sunday evening's African Nations Championship quarterfinal tie against Angola at Stade Ibn Batouta, Tangier.
Kano Pillars legend Rabiu Ali returns to the starting line-up while Enyimba defender Ikouwem Udoh is preferred ahead of Daniel Itodo at left-back.
Man of the Match against Equatorial Guinea, Dayo Ojo, replaces the much-maligned Ifeanyi Ifeanyi in midfield.
Coach Yusuf has opted for a 4-3-3 formation which he deployed in the first game vs Rwanda, meaning Sunday Faleye and Emeka Ogbugh will join Anthony Okpotu in attack.
Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa starts in goal and the back four contains Ikouwem Udoh, Osas Okoro, Stephen Eze and Kalu Orji.
Referee Sadok Selmi from Tunisia will officiate the third quarterfinal between Nigeria and Angola.
