Kalmar Interested In CHAN Eagles Striker Dubbed The Nigerian Van Persie

Swedish Allsvenskan side Kalmar signed defenders Gbenga Arokoyo and Chima Akas last month and another transfer of a Nigeria international could be in the offing.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Kalmar are interested in the signing of Akwa United frontman Gabriel Okechukwu before the close of the Swedish transfer window.
A representative of Kalmar monitored Okechukwu at the recently concluded African Nations Championship in Morocco, where he was one of the outstanding players for the Nigerian national team.
The Swedish club face an uphill battle in their bid to sign the Super Eagles striker with reports linking him with three-time African champions Raja Casablanca.
Dubbed the Nigerian Van Persie, Okechukwu scored two goals to help the Super Eagles qualify for the final of the African Nations Championship.
The 22-year-old started his career with Water FC and also worn the jerseys of TEAP FC, St. George's F.C. and FC Karpaty Lviv.
