Published: February 11, 2018
A goal from Manchester City wonderkid Bobby Duncan helped world champions England to record their first point at the Algarve Tournament after a 1-1 draw with Germany at Algarve Stadion, Almancil, Portugal on Sunday afternoon.
England U17 World Cup-winning manager Steve Cooper made a shakeup to his starting line-up that lost 4-0 to Portugal two days ago, and one of those changes saw Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka starting in a four-man defense.
Chelsea midfielder Faustino Anjorin was joined on the substitutes bench by goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, Ajibola Alese and Xavier Amaechi.
The Young Lions took the lead thanks to Duncan's goal on 52 minutes , before VfL Wolfsburg's Ole Pohlmann scored the equalizer ten minutes later.
Amaechi came on for his second appearance of the tournament in the 58th minute.
England will play their last game against the Netherlands on Tuesday, February 13.
The Young Lions won the Fifa U17 World Cup in October 2017 after thrashing Spain 5-2 in the final. Their number two Timothy Eyoma was a non-playing substitute.
