Rohr Names One Player Who Will Definitely Start Against Poland
Published: March 23, 2018
Media officer of the Nigerian national team, Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye on Friday morning revealed that Deportivo La Coruna young goalkeeper Francis Uzoho will start tonight's game against Poland ahead of Enyimba of Aba's Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
Former Golden Eaglets reserve keeper Uzoho was in action in Nigeria's 4-2 win over Argentina in November and made an impressive debut for the senior national team but has found first team opportunities difficult to come by at the Spanish club.
Ibitoye spoke to Channels television on the one team selection Rohr will certainly go for.
"The chief coach Gernot Rohr has decided to go with Francis Uzoho for this match,'' Ibitoye explained.
"Everyone knows that Ikechukwu Ezenwa has done well for the team but we need to give Uzoho the chance he needs.
"Ezenwa was at the African Nations Championship in Morocco and has kept in other matches so Uzoho will start and Ezenwa will be on the bench from kickoff, that is the decision of coach Rohr, that's what he has told us.''
Speaking on weather challenges in Wroclaw, the spokesman of the team said:
"Its very cold here but it was also cold in Morocco at the African Nations Championship so the team will cope. It's not a problem," Ibitoye assured.
A quick search at the weather forecasts for Friday night in Wroclaw indicates that the night will be cloudy with chances of rains and at 6° centigrade while at press time it is 2° centigrade.
