The Super Eagles suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Serbia at The Hive Stadium on Tuesday evening in a game which did little to warm the mind of the Nigeria faithful. But how did everyone of them fare?
Allnigeriasoccer.com runs the rule thus..
Goalkeeper
Francis Uzoho: Pulled off a string of fine saves especially in the first period but had little answer to Aleksander Mitrovic's pair of goals. 6/10
Defenders
Tyronne Ebuehi: Tried to help build attack in the first half though he soon faded and offered nothing of note in the second period. 5/10
William Troost-Ekong: Was at sea for both goals which rendered much of the little work he mustered scant. 5/10
Chidozie Awaziem: Failed in his partnership with Ekong as he could hardly get to grips with the Serbian menace. 4/10
Brian Idowu: Contained Mitrovic as much as he could and made a couple of clearances. 5/10
Midfielders
Wilfred Ndidi: Had a below par performance and could not curtail the quick interchanges of Serbia. 5/10
Joel Obi: Was a passerby for most part of the game and offered little to protect the backline. 4/10
Ogenyi Onazi: Busied himself in midfield but failed to assert any required dominance. Tried a couple of long range shots. 5/10
Attackers
Alex Iwobi: Surprisingly offered little in attack and his erratic shots were a testament to that. 4/10
Victor Moses: Weaved some of his trickery as usual though he could not break down the resolute Serbs. Came off for Odion Ighalo in the second half. 7/10
Ahmed Musa: Ran at the Serbian defence on a few occasions but was usually crowded out. 5/10
Substitutes
Odion Ighalo: Tried a few run in behind after coming on and aside a few hold-up plays offered nothing of note. 5/10
John Ogu: Tried stifling the flow of the opponents after coming on. 5/10
Moses Simon: Offered nothing impressive after replacing Joel Obi. 4/10
Old Aina: Offered fresh legs as the Super Eagles defence slacked. Did nothing impressive.
Mikel Agu: Thrown in towards the end for Ndidi.
Junior Ajayi: Spent little time on the pitch.
