EPL Wrap: Fantastic Moses Scores And Sets Up Goal; Ndidi Shines; Iheanacho Starts
Published: April 19, 2018
Victor Moses was at his inspirational best for Chelsea in their 2-1 win over Burnley in their Premier League clash at the Turf Moor on Thursday evening, scoring one and creating another.
The Super Eagle had a huge hand in the opening goal, bursting down the right channel after getting the better of Stephen Ward to lift a cross into the danger zone which Burnley defender, Kevin Long unwittingly guided past Nick Pope and into his own net.
Icelandic midfielder, Johann Berg Guðmundsson saw a 64th minute shot deflected in by Ashley Barnes to pull the hosts level in the second period.
But Moses ensured the Blues carted home full points from the game, blasting in a ferocious shot after a cross fell to him in the 70th minute.
His performance ensured that he has now been involved in four goals in his last nine Premier League games (three goals, one assist).
Elsewhere, Leicester City and Southampton played out a goalless stalemate at the King Power stadium in another league game.
Super Eagles, Kelechi Iheanacho and his compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi who returned to the hosts starting XI after serving his suspension started for the Foxes, with both players impressing.
Iheanacho was replaced after 76 minutes of action by Fousseni Donate while Ndidi lasted the entire course of the game.
