Official: Nigeria Defender Leon Balogun Pens Two-Year Deal With Brighton & Hove
Published: May 22, 2018Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have announced the signing of Nigeria national-teamer Leon Balogun.
The 29-year-old arrives Brighton as a free agent after choosing not to extend his contract with Bundesliga outfit Mainz, and has inked a two-year deal that will see him remain with the Seagulls until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
In his first words as a Brighton player, Balogun told the club's official website : ''I always had a dream to play in the Premier League, and Brighton was one of the first teams to show an interest in me.
''I’ve been following English football as much as I can in Germany, and I saw how they got promoted from the Championship.
''I liked the way they played last season in the Premier League too and how they were able to maintain their status. It’s really impressive how they work, not just as individuals, but as a team too.''
