Official: Versatile Midfielder Pens New Long-Term Deal With Arsenal
Published: June 12, 2018Premier League club Arsenal have announced the extension of the contract of Ainsley Maitland-Niles on their official website, arsenal.com.
The England U20 World Cup-winning midfielder has penned a new long-term deal with the Gunners but the duration of the contract and financial terms have not been disclosed.
Last season, he wore the number 30 kit but has been handed the number fifteen shirt for the 2018-19 campaign, a hint that he is set to feature more for the first team under new manager Unai Emery.
''It feels fantastic knowing that I’m going to be a part of the squad, and a big part of the squad,'' Maitland-Niles stated.
''It means a lot with the new head coach coming in and Arsenal tying me down [with a new contract]. I’m very pleased.''
The London native has appeared in 38 matches for Arsenal since he made his first-team debut in a UEFA Champions League clash against Galatasaray in December 2014.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles spent the whole of the 2015-2016 season on loan at Ipswich Town.
