Talented French Goalkeeper Of Ivorian Descent Pens New Three-Year Deal With Chelsea
Published: July 04, 2018Promising French goalkeeper of Ivorian descent Nicolas Tie has been rewarded with a new deal by English Premier League side Chelsea.
French sports daily L'Equipe is reporting that Nicolas Tié has just signed the first professional contract of his very young career, and the Franco-Ivorian is now contracted to Chelsea until the summer of 2021.
Tie was on the radar of Chelsea since 2014 but penned a scholarship deal with the club in July 2017 after celebrating his 16th birthday.
Last season, the young netminder was in goal for nine matches in the U18 Premier League and conceded 13 goals while posting three shutouts.
He was a non-playing substitute in the UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy.
Born in Lille, Tie joined Chelsea from French Championnat National 3 club FC Poitiers.
