ANS Proved Right: Liverpool In Talks To Sign Switzerland Winger Shaqiri NOT Moses Simon
Published: July 12, 2018Several reports in the English press suggest that Premier League side Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Switzerland World Cup star Xherdan Shaqiri.
According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are looking to seal a deal to make Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri their third new signing of the summer and have opened discussions with the Championship club.
The Reds making a move for Shaqiri punctures claims of the club interested in signing Nigeria international winger Moses Simon in the summer transfer window, as exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com three months ago.
The Super Eagles winger was offered to Liverpool but they passed up the opportunity to sign him, saying he was ''not their kind of player''.
Simon has entered the final twelve months of his contract with KAA Gent and has been declared surplus to requirements ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, another Nigerian winger Sheyi Ojo could be used as a makeweight in the proposed deal taking Xherdan Shaqiri to Liverpool.
The Potters are interested in signing Ojo on a season-long loan.
