Nigerian Trio Named In Manchester United Squad For Hong Kong Tournament
Published: August 13, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that three Nigerian starlets have been named in Manchester United's traveling party for this month's invitational tournament in Hong Kong.
Shola Shoretire, Mipo Odubeko and Deji Sotona joined up with the Red Devils U16 squad before their trip to Hong Kong on Saturday, August 11.
Winger Shoretire and striker Odubeko attended this same tournament in August 2017 and gave a good account of themselves.
The Manchester United U16 squad is participating in the JC Youth Football Academy Summit 2018, a week-long cultural and football exchange programme with elite youth players from Guangdong and Hong Kong.
In their first friendly, they will take on Hong Kong FA Academy U17 on August 14, followed by Hong Kong District All-Stars three days later, and will contest the final or third place playoff depending on their standing in the group.
Head of the Manchester United Academy Nicky Butt has traveled with the squad to Hong Kong.
