Official: IK Start Confirm Akinyemi Has Penned A Deal Until 2021
Published: August 16, 2018Through a statement on their official website, Norwegian topflight club IK Start have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Adeleke Akinyemi from FK Ventspils.
The 20-year-old arrived in Kristiansand late Wednesday night after putting pen to paper on a deal until December 2021.
In his first words as an IK Start player, Akinyemi told the club's official website : ''I'm very happy to come here. I look forward to getting started and hoping to score many goals for Start.''
IK Start's sporting director Tor-Kristian Karlsen added : ''This is a player we have been following for a long time, and for which we have been working for a long time.
''There are several who have helped to make this happen, and we have probably had some luck.
''Adeleke is a powerful, breakthrough and dynamic player, who likes to run all the time. He is also good in the air.''
Adeleke Akinyemi, who could make his home debut for IK Start against Odd On August 27, has been handed the number 77 jersey for the remainder of the 2018 season.
