Allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm a report by Correio da Manhã that Portuguese Primeira Liga side Sporting CP are interested in signing Nigeria international Aaron Samuel in the summer transfer window.

The striker mutually parted ways with CSKA Moscow this week which alerted several clubs to his availability.

The leadership of Sporting CP promised to recruit two strikers in the wake of their 3-1 win at Moreirense in their Primeira Liga curtain raiser last weekend and one of their targets is Aaron Samuel.

Rafael Leão, Gelson Martins, Daniel Podence and Héldon are among the attack-minded players that departed he Lisbon-based club this summer and the two notable reinforcements in attack are wingers Raphinha and Nani.

The 24-year-old has scored 36 goals in 120 matches since he moved abroad in 2012, and has played for Vålerenga, Sarpsborg 08, Guangzhou R&F, Amkar Perm and CSKA.
