Dual Eligible PSV Wonderkid Is The Secret Weapon Libya Plan To Unleash Against Nigeria
Published: September 21, 2018The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) are planning to hand an invitation to PSV Eindhoven two-footed winger Zakaria Aboukhlal for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations double-header with Nigeria.
Rimessa.net says Jamal Al-Jaafari, president of the Libyan Football Federation, has confirmed that he will hold a meeting in the next few days with the father of Zakaria to discuss the possibility of the player joining the next camp of the national football team.
In a recent television interview, Jamal Al-Jaafari said that the Federation will take all the necessary measures for Zakaria Aboukhlal to be capped by Libya if his father agrees to their request.
Regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in Dutch football, Zakaria Aboukhlal joined PSV from Willem II on a three-year deal in the summer of 2017 and the 18-year-old is inching closer to a first team debut having contributed to 24 goals in 34 appearances for their youth teams.
He has played competitively for Netherlands at youth level so he has to apply to FIFA for a one-time change of association to represent the Libyans.
Libya lead Group E of the AFCON qualifiers with four points, one more than the Super Eagles ahead of their showdown next month.
