Liverpool Legend Gerrard Wants To Sign All Loanees Permanently, Apart From Nigerian Striker
Published: September 23, 2018If Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard had his way, he would sign four players currently on loan at Rangers on a permanent basis, including Nigerian midfielder Ovie Eajria.
Another Nigerian youngster Umar Sadiq has been loaned out to the Scottish Premiership side for the remainder of the season but has found game time hard to come by, so much so that he has been unable to make his full debut since his arrival from AS Roma.
Ejaria, who has been out of favour at Liverpool for more than a year, has taken the Premiership by storm and was one of the key players that helped Rangers qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.
Ryan Kent, Lassana Coulibaly and Joe Worrall are the other loanees Gerrard wants to sign permanently.
''If you’re asking me if I’d want the four of them for next year, I’d sign them right now. We rate them highly,'' Gerrard was quoted as saying The Scottish Sun.
''In an ideal world, they’d all be on four or five-year deals but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. We have to be respectful to their parents clubs.''
He added : ''I’m still in Jurgen Klopp’s good books, so if Liverpool keep winning maybe there’s some scope.''
Rangers will go into their game with St.Johnstone in buoyant mood after holding Villarreal to a 2-2 draw in the Europa League on Thursday and Ejaria may return after missing the trip to Spain due to injury.
