Egwuekwe Pens One-Year Al Nasr Deal After Successful Medical, Rejects Kuwaiti & Azerbaijani Clubs
Published: September 25, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that the transfer of Azubuike Egwuekwe to Libyan champions Al Nasr is now done and dusted after the defender passed his medical with flying colours.
The 29-year-old underwent a medical on Sunday and the results came out positive yesterday, paving the way for him to pen a one-year deal with Al Nasr.
The contract signed by Egwuekwe includes an option for an additional season; both the club and player have to agree before that clause is activated in 2019.
The Nigeria international had attracted interest from unnamed clubs in Azerbaijan and Kuwaiti team Qadsia SC before accepting to join Al Nasr.
Al Nasr pushed more to sign him without undergoing trials because of his experience and they needed him to bolster the squad ahead of their participation in the CAF Champions League.
Though his wages and bonuses at Al Nasr are undisclosed, Egwuekwe will pocket almost the same wages he earned at his last club, SuperSport United.
The deal taking Egwuekwe to Al Nasr was brokered by his new intermediary, Pro-onesports Management Company.
