Published: October 15, 2018Sunderland's Nigerian wonderkid Josh Maja has scored more goals in the league this season than Europe's current Golden Boy, Kylian Mbappe, 19.
The Black Cats number 20 has tallied 9 goals in his first twelve games of the 2018-2019 campaign in the EFL League One.
Born December 27, 1998, Maja registered his name on the score-sheet against Charlton Athletic, Luton Town, Scunthorpe United, Gillingham, Fleetwood Town, Rochdale (2), Peterborough United and Bradford City.
Paris Saint-Germain's France international Mbappe has netted 8 goals from just five appearances in the Ligue 1.
Maja's form has seen him linked with at least three clubs in the English Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur, Man City and Southampton credited with an interest.
The Lewisham-born centre forward was named English Football League's Young Player of the Month for August 2018.
He was invited to train with the Nigerian National Team in March 2017.
