Big Duels Between Nigeria & South Africa In November As Super Falcons Discover AWCON Opponents
Published: October 22, 2018Africa's best, Nigeria, have discovered their group opponents at the upcoming 2018 TOTAL Africa Women’s Africa Cup of Nations following the draw that took place on Sunday night.
The defending champs can avoid hosts Ghana until the final after they were drawn in Group B along with South Africa, Zambia and Kenya.
Nigeria begin their campaign at the AWCON against South Africa on November 18, a day after the Super Eagles' crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Bafana Bafana in Soccer City, before facing Zambia (Nov 21) and Kenya (Nov 24).
Their three Group B matches will take place at Cape Coast Sports Stadium, Cape Coast.
In the event that they qualify for the semifinals, Nigeria will face one of the four teams in Group A which contains Ghana, Algeria, Mali and Cameroon.
The 2018 AWCON doubles as the African qualifiers to the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup and the top three teams will qualify for the World Cup in France.
