Huddersfield's Billing Makes Big Announcement On National Team He Wants To Represent Next Summer
Published: December 06, 2018Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing has said that he would love to represent the Danish team at next summer's 2019 UEFA European U21 Championship although his Premier League team want him to take a rest after a long season.
The U21 Euro final tournament will take place in Italy and San Marino from 16–30 June 2019, around the same period that the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations will hold.
Billing has Nigerian roots and has been courted by the Nigerian Federation ahead of the AFCON but the Denmark U21 international remains committed to the Scandinavians.
''Yes, it's U21 - but it's a final tournament and I really want to go,'' Billing said to Danish tabloid BT.
''Of course there is a long season over here in England and there are a lot of matches. But I'm sure the club will let me go to the European U21 Championship. I am convinced. "
Danish-born Billing joined Huddersfield Town at the age of sixteen and has 31 appearances to his name since debuting in the Premier League.
