Why Liverpool's Nigerian-Born Winger Adekanye Is In No Hurry To Return To Action
There is an encouraging update on the fitness of Ibadan-born winger Bobby Adekanye ahead of Liverpool U23s first competitive game in 2019 against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Netherlands youth international has not figured for Liverpool's youth teams since a 2-0 road win against Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Youth League on November 6 due to injury.

''Bobby Adekanye will soon come back from injury, he has already started training with the U23s,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.

''Everything is programmed, a procedure has to be followed. He is in no rush to come back. If he rushes again, he will suffer a relapse just like what happened before.''

Prior to Adekanye's spell in the treatment room, the 19-year-old had recorded 13 appearances in the Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League combined, registering three goals and providing two assists.

The former Barcelona, PSV and Ajax Amsterdam starlet joined Liverpool in July 2015.
