Sunderland Goal Machine Agrees Four And A Half Year Deal With Bordeaux
Published: January 23, 2019French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux are poised to beat British and German clubs to the signing of Nigerian wonderkid Josh Maja, according to reports.
France Football says Bordeaux have reached an agreement with Sunderland to sign Maja and the striker has agreed a four-and-a-half year contract.
The French football magazine added that Tottenham Hotspur were among the teams monitoring his situation at the League One club.
The 20-year-old was also on the radar of Scottish Premiership teams Celtic and Rangers as well as clubs in the Bundesliga.
Maja's future has been the subject of speculation after he refused to extend his contract which expires at the end of this season.
He has scored 16 goals from 30 appearances across all competitions this term, leading to a scramble for his signature.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Maja will link up with Nigeria international Samuel Kalu at Bordeaux.
